Planned conductor strike expected to cause major disruption to Southern train services on 21 June

Southern have warned many rush hour trains will not run on Tuesday if the planned conductor strike takes place.

Southern Rail announced on Twitter last week that the union for rail, maritime and transport workers (RMT) will strike on Tuesday June 21.

Southern said the strike will have a "significant effect" on Southern services all day and that it "cannot guarantee" to get passengers to their destination.

There will be no service on many routes and only a limited service between approximately 07:30am and 6pm on others, the operator said.
